First you want to be sure
you have downloaded the game. Chariots Christmas Demo Click on the link. Select
SAVE. Remember the directory where you saved it at. If you UNcheck the
little box that says "Close this window when complete" then it will
give you and option to OPEN the file after it is done downloading. Once you have finished
downloading the file, you will want to run it. If you did not use the
OPEN option from the download window you will need to go to the folder on
your computer where you saved the file to open it. This will install
the game to your hard drive. It is a self-extracting
installation file. Just follow the instructions, and it will install the
program to your START PROGRAMS menu for you. To play the game just go
to START and PROGRAMS and select the CHARIOTS Christmas Demo from the menu. SPOILER WARNING!
SPOILER WARNING! This
video shows the whole game. If
you would like to experience the thrill of discovering the ending for
yourself the first time, Download the game first! This video is
for those viewers who are unable to play the game due to technical difficulties
or unmet system requirements. The Chariots Christmas Demo
is a single player racing game. There is an NPC that will spawn at the
starting line to race against. If you se "Position 1/2" then
you are in first place. if you see "Position 2/2" then you are in
last place. It is a maze race, meant to be challenging! (If we
wanted to make it easy we could have just left it as a simple oval, but the
unanimous consensus of our preliminary testers was that it was too easy. So
we made it more challenging.) The goal is to find your way through all
the distractions, to discover the true gift of Christmas! There is
one loop that takes you back to the beginning (not the end!) so beware!
I hope you have fun. Merry Christmas! The
default movement keys are: W- forward S- backward A-strafe left D-strafe right but you can press
CTRL-O at any time to change the default keybindings. SPACE - jump TAB - change to 3rd person
view RIGHT-Mouse-Button CLICK
& HOLD - to look around. If you mount a horse, you
press the forward key to move forward at full speed. Use the Mouse to roll
forward or backward to control your speed. M- to dismount. ESC - If you need to exit
before you finish the race. The game does exit automatically when you
finish. A Windows operating system
is required, XP reccomended. Pentium 1 GHz minimum - 2
GHz reccomended 512 MB RAM minimum- 2
GB reccomended DirectX 9c, April 2007 or
newer required A video card that
supports per-pixel shader graphics is required. 344 MB free space minimum
on your hard drive (for both the installation file and the game after it is
installed). We do not endorse
any one card or manufacturer over another, but the following cards are
reccomended by wikipedia as supporting
per-pixel shader graphics under DX 9.0c drivers. Please use this list as a
guide, not an absolute. No gurantee is either written or implied, this is
just meant as a helpful suggestion.
To make sure your
computer is up to date try these things: To play the demo you
will need to make sure you have a version of DirectX 9c from at least April
2007, or later. Error message: failed to
open main.cs Solution A: Make sure your shortcut is pointing
to the right location. It should be pointing to the folder on your hard
drive where the game is installed. To find out where your icon
is looking for the game, RIGHT CLICK on the desktop icon. Select PROPERTIES.
If you used the default installation location it will look like
this: TARGET: "C:\Program
Files\Chariots Christmas Demo\Chariots.exe" START IN: "C:\Program
Files\Chariots Christmas Demo"
If your Target: or
Start In: boxes are blank, you should type in the correct location as
indicated. Solution B: Install the latest DirectX drivers
for your operating system. You can get the newest version (November
2007) from Microsoft. If you have updated your
DirectX drivers and it still gives you a driver error, you can download the
drivers we used in making the game here: DirectXApril2007.rar
This is in RAR compression format. You can
download WinRar for free from the WinRar website You will also need to be
sure that you have updated your video drivers for your video card to the
newest possible drivers. This is just a simple download and install
from your graphics chipset vendor. Popular graphics cards are listed
below. If you don't know what kind of graphics card you have you can
click on START then RUN and in the little box type DXDIAG and it will run a
diagnostic tool which tells you everything about your computer setup. For an Nvidia graphics card

you can download the latest drivers here: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html For Intel GMA drivers you

We need more developers. This includes Programmers (primarily we
need C++ programmers, but also PHP, MySQL, Web Developers, and other skills
are needed as well), 3D Animators, 3D artists (for both organic and
inanimate models), Torque Scripters, World builders, Musicians (we have
specific music needs creating an ancient atmosphere), Texture artists, other
2D graphics artists, quest writers for Visions, Marketing, and some various
other jobs. If you are interested in helping us develop Chariots or
Visions please fill out our Volunteer
Application. We work on the project every day of the week, so reliable
internet access and willingness to communicate using IRC and Email is

If you don't have the time, a needed talent, or the money to contribute, please pray for us. We are creating this game in faith as we feel directed by the leading of our hearts. Yet with any project of this magnitude there are always moments of doubt or frustration. We understand that there will be problems along the way as with any development project, but please pray that we will handle each situation wisely and to the best possible outcome for all who are involved. #4. You can donate financially. Even $12 helps. If 500,000 people were to donate $12 we would have sufficient funding to hire a full time team for 2 years.
